The mission of Sotterley Plantation, a National Historic Landmark, is to preserve, research, & interpret Sotterley Plantation’s diverse cultures & environments, & to serve the world as an educational, cultural, & community resource. Historic Sotterley, Inc. is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) public charity organization.

Visitors to the site for our Self-guided Grounds Tour, 1703 Plantation House Tour, or Audio Tours (Tour Information page link) do not purchase tickets in advance. Available on a walk-in basis in the Visitor Center. Come and join us!

Upon arrival please begin at the Visitor Center for admission and site information. 

NO ADVANCE TICKETS NECESSARY for Visitors to Historic Sotterley Plantation for Self-guided Grounds Tours, 1703 Plantation House Tours, or Audio ToursAvailable on a walk-in basis in the Visitor Center.

In addition to its tours, exhibits, beautiful grounds, Colonial Revival gardens, and other things to do, Historic Sotterley hosts many unique events and programs throughout the year.

Guided Tour Season & Audio Tours only available: May 1st – October 31st

Restrictions: No pets allowed. No food, drink or photography within the 1703 Plantation House. The Plantation house is not handicapped accessible (walkers and wheelchairs are not allowed). Strollers are not allowed in the Plantation House. Smoking allowed only in parking lot and designated areas.
